Record removal, corrections & expunctions

Last updated November 3, 2026
It's always free. CIVILIAN never charges anyone to remove, correct, or update a booking photo or arrest record, and never will.

Expunction or nondisclosure orders

If a court issued an order of expunction or an order of nondisclosure for your record, send us a notice and we'll take the record down. You don't need to send the whole order; the case number, the court, and the date of the order are enough for us to find it. Records that show up as expunged or sealed in the county court records are also removed automatically.

Wrong or incomplete information

If a record about you is wrong or incomplete (for example, the charges were dismissed or reduced, or you were found not guilty), tell us. We'll check it against the official record for free, fix or remove it, and let you know what we found. Under Texas law we finish that check within 45 business days, and we usually act much faster.

Minors

We never publish juvenile records or anyone under 17. (Texas treats 17-year-olds as adults in criminal cases.) If you see a record about a minor, tell us and we'll remove it right away.

How to send a request

Include a link to the page (or the date and the area of the arrest) and an email we can reply to. While we check a request, the name and photo are hidden.

This page explains how CIVILIAN handles requests. It isn't legal advice. For help getting an expunction or nondisclosure order, talk to a licensed Texas attorney or the court clerk.
