The Abilene Zoo has a new resident: Warble, a pygmy slow loris. Slow lorises are the only primates known to be venomous.

The animal makes an oil in glands near its elbows. Mixed with its saliva, the oil becomes a venomous toxin.

Pygmy slow lorises are nocturnal and do most of their moving at night, so Warble lives in the zoo's nocturnal area. The zoo planned to have Warble on exhibit during Boo at the Zoo and its Día de los Muertos events on Halloween weekend.
