Abilene had several homegrown haunted attractions this Halloween, and a few of them raised money for good causes.

Pratt's Karate Club opened its Terrell-Bulls Haunted Cemetery at 117 and 118 Spur Trail, a backyard attraction it has run for about 10 years. Admission was free, and donations went to New Horizons, a Texas foster care and adoption organization that has worked with families for more than 50 years. The organizers said they raised more than $700 for charity last year.

The Swenson House, built around 1910 and now kept up by the nonprofit Swenson House Historical Society, ran a haunted house Oct. 30 and 31 to raise money to save the property's arbor. On Halloween, a kids' hour ran from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the full scares started at 7.

House of Horrors at Doc's Bar & Grill ran its final two nights the weekend of Halloween.
