The Abilene Public Library is offering two beginner makerspace classes for adults in the first week of November. No experience is needed.

3D Modeling Basics is Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in the Main Library's makerspace classroom. You'll set up a free Tinkercad account, build a simple design and save it in the right format for the library's 3D printer.

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m., Laser Engraver xTool Introduction covers the library's new xTool M2, which can cut and engrave many kinds of material. The class goes over the software and safe operation, then walks a project from design to finished piece.

Library staff can also help patrons get started on their own projects with the other equipment in the makerspace. Details are on the library calendar at abilenetx.gov/apl/Calendar.
