Master Gardener Julie Tilman of the Big Country Chapter of Texas Master Gardeners will teach two free library classes on forcing an amaryllis bulb to bloom indoors in time for the holidays.

The first is Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. at the South Branch Library. The second is Friday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Main Library.

Tilman will cover watering, light and bulb care, and explain how to keep the plant healthy so it may bloom again in later years. Amaryllis produce tall stalks with big trumpet-shaped flowers in red, pink, white and other colors.

The class is part of the library's monthly Master Gardeners series. The Texas Master Gardener program is run through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, and gardeners of every level are welcome.
